Nur bei uns: Emika gibt einen kleinen Vorgeschmack auf ihr neues Piano-Album.
Am 26. Januar 2015 wird das neue Album von Emika erscheinen. Bei uns könnt ihr bereits in zwei Stücke des Albums hereinhören. Zum einen „Dilo 11“ und zum anderen „Dilo 12“. Beide Tracks sind ausschließlich instrumental – bedeutet der tschechische Albumtitel KLAVIRNI doch in der Übersetzung Klavier.
Emika erklärt dem Musikexpress gegenüber die sechzehn neuen Stücke wie folgt: „ This album is very personal and intimate, almost like a piano diary. I love to just sit and play the piano to see where it goes in the moment. It is a totally unique process and nothing like working on songs in a studio. I decided to record my improvisations with a simple Zoom recorder positioned next to me on the stool, so the listener feels like they sit right up close to the piano next to me. Later I edited my collection and splashed different echo’s on.“
Emika nahm die Solo-Tracks bei ihren Eltern in Milton Keynes auf ihrem Kinder-Piano auf, um sie dann in Berlin wieder und wieder neu zu arrangieren. Über das liebgewonnene Instrument sagt sie: „The piano is such a beautiful instrument, it stands in a room alone, and simply needs to be touched. I made scores of some of the pieces so that other people can play them and this feels really good – being able to share the notes so the music comes to life through other people also.“
